On Saturday, December 20th, I had the great good fortune to travel into NYC with my sister Phyllis, meet up with good chums Liz and Gail, and head to the Metropolitan Opera to see Renee Fleming in Thais. It was fantastic. The voices were fabulous, the sets simple but very creative and the orchestra sounded wonderful. One only had to suspend belief looking at the cost printed on the ticket which had absolutely no relationship to the price actually paid - legal scalping via a ticket broker!
After the opera (3 1/2 hours!) we treated ourselves to dinner at O'Neals then headed back to Port Authority. A fun - if long! - day!
